How Do I ... Printout Clinical Details for another practice
You want to printout the clients clinical history so they can take it to a referral practice or are moving to a different vet. BUT .... you don't want the prices.
There are two main way to do this:
- The quick and dirty option.
From the Clinical screen press the 'Z' (Zero) key, this will print the clinical details for the dates specified to the printer. - The correct way
Setup a 'History Report' to print the important information, without prices and add a 'nice' header/footer to the document. - Setup the basic report
Use Misc Utilities -> Configure Clinical (New style menu)
or Reports -> Financial -> PDSA/History -> History (Classic)Pick an unused entry - in this example I will use slot 10.
Select 'B'lank to set all the options back to default
Use 'T'itle to give it a name e.g. Referral ReportThis report will use analysis codes to include/exclude work, so pick 'A'nalysis and on the include line add everything 0-254 (do not include code 255 as these are payments). Also I don't really think the referring practice is interested in dog food (in my case code 240) so I Ignore analysis 240 nor credit control stuff so also ignore 252 and 253 (Surcharges and Discounts). Adjust as you see fit.
Make sure 'Financial Amount' is set to 'No'
Use 'P'rint to set the default, you may want to set it to Display initially to make sure it is as you want.
Use 'D'ate to get the system to ask for the date range.
Quit back to the menu
- Test it
Go to any client card, select 'R'eport on the clinical screen, select option 10 which should say 'Referral Report' and follow the questions.
- Add the cream
These report can have a customised top and bottom, the text is on a per report basis - if this is a 'Moving Away' printout a little 'If your new Vet surgeon has any queries please ask him to contact us on 123 - thank you for your business etc. etc.', Referral reports may include some 'Vet Speak'.
The top and the bottom can be set independently of each other, incude what you think is suitable. Ok how.
Use any of the text editors and create the definition file
report10.bot for the bottom of report 10
report10.top for the top of report 10
(For report in slot 5 it would be report5.top and report5.bot)
All the usual reserved words can be used (see the on-line manual for a list - or come to the talk at congress).
- Tell the staff - sit back and have a cup of Tea.
- Setup the basic report
Rememeber these reports can be used both from the clinical screen ('R'eport option) AND from the Treeview screen ('H'istory Option).
