Recommended Settings for Anita

(These are based on Anita 7 but are very similar to the earlier versions.)

Installing

Anita can be downloaded directly from the author's web site http://www.april.se or from one of the Premvet Utility CD's (in the 'apps' folder).

Follow the download instructions if using the web, with the copy on the CD just double click it - the Install Wizard will startup - accept all the defaults.

This will install the software in 'Evaluation Mode' - you have 30 days to try the software - if you have a licence click 'Activate Anita' and enter the number (see later for details).

The FIRST time Anita is run you will be asked a few questions:

Initial Install Questions
Platform: SCO
Terminal: SCO Console
Character set : IBM PC (OEM)
There will be a pop-up relating to Character sets - just click yes
The screen will display the emulator with a pop-box asking for the name of the host to connect to. Enter the name of the Premvet server and click OK.

Once Anita has started up there are a few settings you need to change to make it 'look' nice. On the toolbar pick the 'Config' option:

Config -> Terminal Emulation

Check the Terminal type is set to SCO Console
These are the settings you initially entered when installing so they should be the correct.

Config -> Colour and Attributes

Click 'Use Host Colour' so that Premvet has control over the screen colours.

Config -> Boxes

Un-Tick all three

Config -> Preferences -> View

Tick Connect when Started
Un-tick Prompt for host

Select Close Windows for both in the 'After Disconnect from' box

Un-Tick both Enable Hotspots and Enable Button Panel

Un-Tick: System Menu and Toolbar

Config -> Lock Settings

If you tick the Disconnect from PC then this will stop users just quitting out of the system. They must exit correctly.

Strongly recommended.

Once you are happy,
click File -> Save Config:

These are the initial settings to allow anyone to use the system - they are user preferences - you can change ANY to suit your needs.

Activating Anita

The initial install puts Anita into evaluation mode - you do not need a licence for the first 30 days - after that you must either remove the copy from your PC or get a licence.

Once you have the licence click 'Activate Anita' on the start-up window and enter the licence key.

Note: A version 6 licence key will NOT work with Version 7, likewise a version 7 key will NOT work with Version 6 (or 5, 4 etc.) - the activation keys are tied to the version of Anita they were purchased for.
Either download the version your licences applies to or contact us for an upgrade licence.
