Using Anita to Dial-in to Premvet 5.
Note: Anita is freely distributed for evaluation purposes only. If you wish to continue using it you should register the product, at a cost of approximately #75 per terminal. This license will also entitle you to telephone assistance and support from April, the manufacturers of Anita.
Installation
See the FAQ Installing and Setting up Anita for details.
For the time being do NOT tick 'Close Window' on the Preferences -> View screen.
Then:
- Select Session -> Disconnect
- Go to Config -> General Settings
You'll need to click the Async button to select the modem options.
Next, select the port your modem is plugged in to and the highest available baud rate.
The Environment options for Country should be United Kingdom and Language English. Click OK and return to the config menu.
The remaining options should all be fine by default. Click OK and return to the config menu.
- Select Phone Number/Autodial and tick the Enable Dial option, enter the phone number of the surgery modem in the Phone # box. Click OK.
- Finally, select Modem Type and make sure the Enable Modem box is ticked. Click OK and return to the main Anita screen.
Now, click the red telephone icon or choose Connect from the Session menu to dial a connection to your surgery. Once you have a connection and have logged in you will be presented with a "TERM =" prompt.
If this equals ansi hit return, if not type ansi and hit return. When you have finished your session select the quit option as normal and type exit at the Unix prompt. The message No Carrier should then be displayed. It is then safe to close Anita by clicking the X on the top right of the menu bar or by selecting Exit from the File menu.
