How Do I ... Deal with clients who have moved away?
Often, client move away from the area, animals are exported, rehomed etc. I want to make sure that no recalls are sent to the client - How do I do it?
Create an AP code called 'Moved Away',
This will make sure ALL (by setting it to 253) the current recalls are zero'ed - No more reminders will be sent.
Some things NOT to do:
- Set the Status to DD - dead animals are treated differently to moved away.
- Reset just vaccination - use recall 253 to clear ALL of them otherwise you could leave a Wormer, puppy party recall active.
- Cover all possibilities: Export, Re-Homed, asked to leave, transfered to a another practice etc.
A 'nice touch' would be to create a 'Goodbye' letter, thanking the client for their custom, wishing them well etc. Include your Practice Details (Inc animal ref) so they can pass your details onto the Vet who will be dealing with the animal.
You can use
this will automatically print the letter 'goodbye.def' for you when the AP code.
