There are a few things you can do to the diary to alter the appearance and some of the functionality. This guide will cover the options within Premvet that control this.
Looking first at the params.txt the following options all relate to the diary:
| Diary_No_Colour = No | By default the diary pages will use various Colours to split up the page. When you have dumb terminals e.g. Wyse 55/60's which do not support colour you should set this option. When set the system will ignore the colours making the screen refresh much quicker. | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Diary_Ask_Personnel = Yes | Depending on how the diaries have been setup you may have a diary per user or a diary per room/resource. If the diary is for a resource e.g. Morning surgery, operations etc. you can use the last column of each appointment line to store the user's initials. These can be allocated by the Block Booking menu or Mark Personnel on a global basis, however, you may need to change them or re-allocate on a per appointment basis. If you set this option to Yes you will be prompted when the appointment is made and the 'E'dit option allows you to quickly change just the user. | ||||
| Diary_Use_User_ID = Yes |
When an appointment is made for a client the Date/Time are added to the
clients management record. In addition, the diary the appointment is for
is also added. When this option is set, rather than the diary name being
used the user initials are stored instead e.g. who the appointment is
with rather than which diary.
If you have more than 127 users on the system you cannot use this option. If the user the slot is marked with is not a 'genuine' user then it will fall back and store the diary name instead. | ||||
| Diary_Overview = a b c | The Overview option displays up to six diaries (three before and two after the currently selected diary) - rather than move the diaries around so that they are grouped correctly this option can be used. You should set Diary_Overview to the diaries you want displayed e.g. Diary_Overview = 1 4 6 will always display diaries 1, 4 and 6 no matter what the currently selected diary is. | ||||
| Log_Diary_Cancel = YES|ASK |
When you cancel an appointment you have the option to log the reason
why in the clinical records. The default is not to, by setting this
option to:
| ||||
| Diary_No_Show_Check_Ana = No | When you are running the 'No Show' report the system checks to see if the client has been 'seen' on the day in question. The definition of Seen is a clinical entry has been made. The default behavior of the system is to look for non-text entries, this will skip any clients where text has been added - if this option is set to No then ANY work entered on the card will be taken as 'Been Seen' and the record will not be logged. |
In addition to the above params.txt entries there are two settings within Premvet (Parameters -> Fields & Defaults -> Options), these are either a Yes or No.
| Address Switch | Yes | The 1st Address line will be added to the screen |
|---|---|---|
| No | You will have space to enter the reason for the visit. | |
| Slots Switch | Yes | Label the additional slots, A, B, C etc. |
| No | Slots will be numbered. |
You can use colour events to split up the diary page. Colour events allocated are:
| 180 | User ID / Personnel | The last column of the appointment, this will be the user who is marked or allocated to the do the work. |
|---|---|---|
| 181 | Top line and Times | The top line of the page which holds the Time, No, Client and Animal headings. |
| 182 | Block Booking lines | Lines that have been marked via the block bookings system. |
| 183 | Client Name lines | Normal appointment entries. |
| 184 | Separator (:::) lines | Lines used to separate up different sections of the diary page. |
| 185 | Help text | The help lines on the bottom of the screen when adding/editing appointments. |
| 186 | Overview: Diary name | When the overview is displayed this colour is used to show the name of the diary. |
| 187 | Comment for the day | The comment of the day appears on the top line beside the Client/Animal name, this event is used to draw users attention to it. |
| 188 | Reserved Large Animal Diary | Will be documented later. |
| 189 | Reserved Large Animal Diary | Will be documented later. |
