Graded procedures

GRADED PROCEDURES

Instead of having several 'sizes' of a procedure e.g.

SPAY BITCH small
SPAY BITCH medium
SPAY BITCH large
SPAY BITCH giant
SPAY BITCH small/pregnant
etc etc

you can have 'graded procedures' whereby all you need is a MINIMUM and a MAXIMUM, and the vet just has to decide how 'difficult' the job was on a scale of 1 to 10, and the price will be worked out automatically.

Suppose your minimum price for spay is 70.00, maximum 130.00 (inc VAT)

Set up two AP cards eg

SPAY BITCH grade # (the # is essential)

Making sure you use PRICE METHOD 2

then, on the price line
Bands Fees
0+ 59.57 (ie 70.00 without VAT)
2+ 6.67 (ie. one NINTH of the difference between 70 and 130- no VAT)

and
SPAY BITCH maximum
Use PRICE METHOD 1, with
Bands Fees
0+ 110.64

NOW when you actually enter the op on the AP line ( /spay) then choose the SPAY BITCH grade #, and ON THE PARAMETERS line - enter the grade of operation eg 5 for an average bitch, 10 for a fatty etc and it will put on the clinical card:-

SPAY BITCH grade 5 ...and price it accordingly between your maximum and minimum.

It has the added advantage that when you are looking for prices on a clinical card by entering ?spay on the AP line it will nicely quote your minimum and maximum prices for the receptionist to give.
