To set up a label for automatic labelling
- L for labels off the main menu
- C for configure and make sure that the layouts for 1 and 2 are set to
Max no. of printable lines: 9 Number to skip: 6 Characters Normal 40 Enlarged 20 Condensed 40 - Quit back to label
- N for new and select layout 1
- Use the arrow keys to move the highlight bar up and down and enter your
details and the reserved words for Animal/client details.(See example)
When the details are all correct- press escape to end editing.
- S for save and then press return on [A]uto, the computer will give this
label a number (it will appear at the top of the screen above the label
layout.
- Now go back into Configure then Parameters and make sure that the drug label number under SA is set to the same number as the label you have just made. This ensures that the computer knows which label to use.
Printing drug labels with no pricing
If you just enter an * on the (A)uto line you will be prompted for various answers for item and dose etc. These will be merged with the client details on the label.
Printing a label with pricing
To produce a label from a clinical record (including pricing)
(A)uto from prompt line and then put in your drug code followed by the amount dispensed.
Follow this with an asterisk (*) - this tells the computer that you want a label.
An apostrophe (') followed by your label abbreviation will put the dosage on.
EG: syn50 10* 'bid
will be printed as
1 tablet twice daily
NOTES:
You can set up to 300 label abbreviations including ones that will ask for the dose. eg: ASK = Give && tablet(s) && time(s) a day
