To setup and use warnings on labels.
Firstly, make up a list of any drugs that need to have a warning,then decide exactly how the warning should be worded.
For example:
Shampoos For External Use Only Mange washes Wear gloves when applying Tablets Must be given with food.
You will then need to enter the relevant information onto the computer.
Enter the warning messages
- From the stock menu pick
Parameters
Lookup tables
Warnings
- Choose Edit - Code to edit : Start at code 1 and press return, then
enter your first warning.
- Repeat for as many warnings as you have then Quit.
Now you need to tell each drug which warning it needs to use.
- Go into stock control and access the item you wish to have the warning
on.
- When you are in the stock record card, press the DOWN arrow key. This
will take you to the part of the card that deals with labelling.
- Select Edit and use the arrow keys to highlight the space next to
Warning.
- Enter the number of the warning to wish to use and the appropriate text
should appear in this space.
- Then highlight the NNNN line next to warning and change to YYYY
- Automatically generate a label should be set to Yes. If you are not familiar with generating labels this way then please read the guide to Setting up and Using Label Abbreviations.
Making sure the warning appears on the label
- You will need to edit your label so that the reserved word for the warnings is present.
- From the main menu - choose Labelling, then Use the label that is reserved for auto labelling ( No.1?)
- Then select edit and press return until you are highlighting a blank
line. Type in
&warnat this point and press return. - Esc to end editing, Choose S for save and save as the same label number that it was before (No. 1? )
