Operation Diary

I want to create a diary to be used for operations, there should be space for the different operation types - how do I do it?

There are a few different way, we will explain here how to setup a basic operation diary that hase four sections with 6 slots in the 1st three and more in the last one.

• Go to the diary, menu, Initialisation menu and select 'Add a diary'

• Give it a name e.g. Operations
• Number Pages in diary - accept default of 91 days

  Start Time	0900
  Alternative Slots	6
  Finish Time	0930
  Period Length	10
  Start Time	Q

• Select 'Create Diary'
• Return on the start date
• Return on 'Copy Standard Block Bookings'
• Default diary select No
• Read as waiting room select None

This will create a basic diary, now we what to add some headings so you know which section is which.

Select the 'Operation' diary we have just created, then Menu followed by Block bookings and Individual diary.

• Select Add

  Booking Type	6
  Start/End Dates	Press Return
  Times	0900 - 0900
  Book out	Slots
  Text	Large Op's (Or whatever)
  Overwrite	Yes
  Alternative Slots to use	A

  Now repeat the above except change the Times and text for the names of the operation types e.g.

  0910-0910	Text Minor Ops
  0920-0920	Text Dentals
  0930-0930	Text Nurse Ops

  The diary page will now be split into sections. If you are not happy with the results just delete the diary and start again. You can adjust the number of 'slots' for each section and you can add more sections by increasing the end time.
