Telephone/Mobile Numbers
There are a couple of options within Premvet to make it easier to add/edit telephone numbers. One of the most helpful is to get the system to ask for the primary number, Mobile and work numbers when editing/adding a record.
The basic option is when you are in the Telephone Number field just press the function key F1 - a box will appear with all the details.
Ask_Numbers = Yes
This will cause the system to automatically display the box with the main additional numbers in it. e.g.
You can also see (and Edit) all the Telephone Numbers by selecting:
Management Card -> Additional -> Phone -> Number
If you find you are using this option frequently you can change the params.txt entry:
Additional_Right = Phone(See: Manual Entry.)
This altered the default on the additional screen so the numbers are displayed by default on the right hand side.
How Do I Change what the Numbers are called?
There are 9 additional numbers (in addition to the Primary. Mobile and Fax ones), you can change the name to suit your needs e.g. Work, Partner, Farm Office, Stud, Parent etc.
This is done, again with params.txt entries:
# Additional Phone Numbers Telephone = Work,Friend,Evening,Stud,,,,
The system will fill any blanks in as Ph(6), Ph(7), Ph(8) etc. if you do not want them just enter commas at the end of the Telephone line.
(See: Manual Entry.)
Can I tidy up the Numbers?
If you have a lot of Mobile numbers in with the Primary one there is an option that will move them around for you. See FAQ Tidy Up Mobile Numbers.
You can also set one of the automatic protocols to check each time a card is accessed and if there are missing mobile numbers prompt you. See FAQ Filling in Blank Numbers.
There is a DataMajor report on the Tidy Up index 'Records with Flagged Phone Numbers' - this will list any record that is marked for correction/checking.
If you add flag 15 to the MR_Flag_Alert entry you will be warning if the number needs looked at.
Taking that one step further, adding a params.txt entry Box_On_F15 = Yes then you will be taken directly to the number edit screen.
