Root and Admin E-Mail
In 2006 we started rolling out an upgrade to the MTA used on all systems.
The MTA (Mail Transport Agent - Exim) does the job of delivering the mail, however, for security reasons it will NOT deliver mail directly to root.
There is a very easy solution to this, in the aliases file we just re-direct root's mail to another user. This is initially being set to 'admin' e.g.
root: admin
The mail can still be read - use the Admin Login and pick the option 'Check E-Mail'.
You can change the alias to any valid user on the system.
