How can I sell a stock item for nothing?

The normal procedure is to use the $ meta-character as per:

10 code $
(Or enter the $ sign on the extras line).

However, this is really only useful for one off items.

If you are running a special offer on Wormers and want to add a stock sub-unit to be zero so all the user has to do is select from the pop-up list. You will find when you try to enter the price you cannot enter 0.00 - this is by design.

You can however enter 0.001, the system will be happy as there is a price and then when added to the record card it will be rounded to down to zero.

Great for one off items, however, if you sell 5 of these, the price will be .005 and normal rounding will apply and it's on the card for .01 - not so good.

Another meta-character that can be used on the sub-unit line is | to indicate the price is fixed - e.g. no matter what multiplier you use the price is the same. Ideal, set the sub-unit to be .001 and add '|' to the description.

Description Pack/Sell Cost RRP MU % Selling DI %
/1 - !Mls ~d 1.00 1.480 3.000 102.7 3.000 0.0
/2 - 'Free | 1.00 1.480 1.480 0.0 0.001 99.9

(Note the ' as the 1st character tells the system not to add the text to the card but it is there for the user to see - it is not needed for the price fix).
