Consent forms for Off label Drugs

I would like to automatically generate a consent form whenever an Off-Label drug is sold.

This is very similar to Print a Letter when an item is sold. As this is such a common question this FAQ is secific to off-label consent forms.

With version 3.01.05 we are shipping sample definition files for generating a consent form. The .def files are:

These should just work, they cover the basics.

Note: If you want to make any changes to the wording or layout please do work on a COPY of the file as it may get over-written on a future upgrade.

To set them up, on the sctock card, select Warnings -> Edit,

  • Set Append a Letter to Yes
  • For the Letter: field enter olwrap

    Sell this item and you should be asked if you want the Consent from generated.

    A csv file 'oldrug.csv' will be created automatically to log all items sold, this can be looked at with excel or number via the Windows Link.

    The olwrap.def is a small definition file that asks you if you want the Consent form printed.
    If you answer yes it will call the main Consent form (oldrug) - the wrapper is a short-cut to allow you to still print the main consent form at other points - also it is a lot quicker.
