Logo's on Receipts
If you are using the Star TSP700 for POS receipts and Bills you can incorporate your practice logo at the top.
This FAQ explains how to set this up.
The Logo can be generated via any Windows application e.g. Microsoft Word, Paint Shop Pro etc. Once generated it is 'uploaded' to the printer and it will be printed at the top of the Today/POS bills.
The image will not be deleted even if the printer is switched off/on.
Downloading the Software
This only needs done once for each PC that you will be using to create the Logo's.
- Request 'logo_drv.exe' from support.
- Copy this to your Windows PC and double click it to install it.
- Make a note of where it is installed (default is C:\Star\LogoStore Driver\)
- Select Start -> Settings -> Printers -> Add a new Printer
- Set it as a 'local' printer and when asked for the printer type, select 'Have Disk'.
- Use the Browse option to locate 'lspd.inf' in the installation directory.
- Continue as normal.
Create The Logo
- Create the logo with whichever software you want. Then when you are ready, change the printer to 'Star TSP700 LogoStore Printer' - (with Word this is done via File -> Print and select the 'arrow' beside the printer).
- Click the 'Print to File' checkbox.
- Use File -> Page Setup to make sure the margins are set correctly (generally set the margins to Zero).
- Print the document - you will be asked for a 'filename' - use browse to locate the Text folder of the Unix server and use 'logo.prn' as the document name.
Upload to the printer
From the Premvet main menu select:
General Apps -> Parameters -> Hardware -> Codes {Classic}
- Select the printer letter (A-Z) for the TSP700 you want to print the logo.
- Select 'Util', then option 4 - Download Logo
- If you saved your logo as logo.prn then just press RETURN otherwise enter the name you saved it as.
- After a short period of time the logo will be printed on the printer, this is to confirm it was received correctly.
- One final thing to check - Use the 'Codes' option, them 'More',
check that Heading 1 is set to\027 \028 p\001 \000
Now whenever a Today bill/receipt or POS bill/receipt is generated the logo will replace the Practice Name at the top.
If you want to call the logo in a definition file then use &HS
as the reserved word.
The logo will remain in the printer memory until a new logo is downloaded so the above procedure will only be required once.
