E-Mail : Outlook, Outlook Express and Outlook 2000 Settings

The configuration procedure for Microsoft™ Outlook™, Outlook Express™ and Outlook 2000 are identical.

In order to configure Outlook, Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express to send and receive e-mail using the EnServe you will need some information from the EnServe Administrator.
The information required is detailed on the E-Mail : Required Information page.
In the following example you will need to replace some field with your specific information.

nb. If you are prompted for the connection you wish to use at any time during the setup procedure detailed below choose LAN (local area network) as your preferred connection.

Step 1 :
Open Outlook or Outlook Express. From the main window go to the top toolbar and click Tools then Accounts.

Step 2 :
In the Internet Accounts page, select the Mail tab and click the Add button then Mail.

Step 3 :
When prompted enter your full name as you want it to appear on e-mails you send. Click Next>.

Step 4 :
When prompted enter your Internet e-mail address as supplied by the EnServe Administrator. Click Next>.

Step 5 :
Enter the details for your mail servers (usually this is the name of your Unix host) as supplied by the EnServe Administrator. Click Next.

Step 6 :
Enter the details required to collect e-mail from the server. Click Next>.

nb. The USERNAME and PASSWORD are your EnServe username and password, not neccessarily the same as the one you use to log on to your computer.

Step 7 :
You may or may not be asked how you want to connect to the mail server. You should select Local Area network.

Step 8 :
Click Finish.

nb. If you have more than one e-mail account listed on the Mail tab and the account you just created is not shown as the (default) account click the account you created to highlight it then click the Set as Default button.

nb. If you need to make any changes to the account details (you may, for example, want to give it a nicer name) click the account you created to highlight it and then click the Properties button.

nb. After you close this window you can get back to it from the main Outlook or Outlook Express window at any time by following Step 1 above.
