E-Mail : Outlook 2003 Settings

The configuration procedure for Microsoft™ Outlook™ 2002 and Outlook 2003 are identical.

In order to configure Outlook 2002/2003 to send and receive e-mail using the EnServe you will need some information from the EnServe Administrator.
The information required is detailed on the E-Mail : Required Information page.
In the following example you will need to replace text 'servername', mydomain and user details with this information. For Example, replace servername with the name of your unix host e.g. xanth.

nb. If you are prompted for the connection you wish to use at any time during the setup procedure detailed below choose LAN (local area network) as your preferred connection.

Step 1 :
Open Outlook. From the main window go to the top toolbar and click Tools then E-Mail_Accounts.

Step 2 :
In the E-Mail Accounts page click the Add a new e-mail account button then Next.

Step 3 :
For the server type - select POP3 then Next.

Step 4 :
You will be prompted for all the required information. Enter your personal details, the name of the unix server. Refer to your EnServe Administrator if you are unsure of any of the details. Click Next.

nb. The USERNAME and PASSWORD are your EnServe username and password, not neccessarily the same as the one you use to log on to your computer.

Step 5 :
Click Finish.

nb. If you have more than one e-mail account listed on the Mail tab and the account you just created is not shown as the (default) account click the account you created to highlight it then click the Set as Default button.

nb. If you need to make any changes to the account details (you may, for example, want to give it a nicer name) click the account you created to highlight it and then click the Change button.

nb. After you close this window you can get back to it from the main Outlook window at any time by following Step 1 above.
