The 80/20 Rule

There is an established theory that 80% of your practice income is generated from 20% of your clients (the 80/20 rule). This option enables you to extract the top 20% of your clients, alternatively, you can restrict this listing to the top 100 clients, top 200, top 10 etc. This list can then be filed enabling you to mail these clients selectively. Clients with multiple animals will only be included once with the total for all animals.

This option is combined with 'Client totals', when it is selected you should make sure option 9 is set to 'Pareto'.

You will be asked the client types to search for (SA - small animal, FC farm clients etc.), the period you want to cover (entered by a start and finish date), whether you want to look at the records by percentages or by number (e.g. the top 15% or the top 200 clients), and whether you want to file the output for later use. In addition, you can run a separate report for specified species to enable to to target just the top 20% of your dog owners.

Sample Printout There are two data files generated automatically when the report is run:

This report MUST read all clinical records to enable the income figures to be determined and this may take some considerable time.
