The Idexx VetTest 8008 can send results direct to the system. Follow the link for details of the setup procedure.
Whenever a test is run, make sure you enter the animal number at the Reference question and the output will be transferred to the vet system and accumulated. You do not need to set-up any of the tests prior to using the machine as the normal range and units are supplied by the link up.
The option:
'R'eports - 'L'aboratory Reports - 'V'ettest 8008 processingis used to process this work. There are two options:
If the reference number is invalid e.g. less than 1 or greater than the number of clients on file you will be asked:
Invalid Ref: Enter a valid client number or 'P'ostponedEnter the number if known, otherwise use the 'P'ostpone option which will transfer the test results to the 'Corrections' file which can be processed later.
If the client number is valid, the prompt line will be:
Do you want to 'A'dd or 'P'ostponeAdd will add the tests to the client's card. Postpone will skip these results allowing you to check and correct later on.
Note: No check is made to see if the species on the client card agrees with the species sent from the VetTest machine. You should use your common sense, if in doubt pick 'P'ostpone.
Once all the results have been processed you will be taken back to the menu. If any results were 'Postponed' the Corrections option will have (Present) beside it. Selecting corrections will again step through each test with the additions options:
Skip
Bypass this test completely and NOT add it to
any card.
Dump
Printout on the printer the test results. If
you plan to skip a test then use this option
first so you have a hard copy.
Change
Change the client number.
These results will be cross updated to any remote sites.
