As a short cut Premvet 5 provides you with a list of suggestions when you are answering certain questions, to save you from typing them in. These 'option lines' appear on the bottom line of the screen concerned. You can use this parameter setting to alter the contents of these 'option lines'. The following menu will be displayed:
Address lines
These are the nine town/county names that appear when
adding and editing any of the client address lines.
Breed/Species/Recalls/Sex/Colours
When selected, a sub-menu will appear allowing selection of
the required item. These options allow you to Add/Edit or List
the current criteria.
Classification
Animals can be given a classification for pricing purposes the
description and Excluded Analysis Codes can be set via this
option.
The supported classes are:
Type 01: Guide Dogs No VAT on Drugs
Type 02: Charities No VAT
Type 03: Pet Aid Contra entry added to correct account
Type 04: VMS Contra entry added to correct account
In some cases the class may not apply to all work, you have the option
when setting up the class to exclude some analysis codes from the
calculations. Enter then analysis codes beside the description as
either specific codes and/or a range.
Cash types
The nine options that are frequently used when a payment is made
e.g. Cash, Cheque, DD etc.
Over-the-counter
The ten category names associated with the old over the
counter sales option.
Insured codes
The 70 names of the insurance schemes used and
displayed on the client's record. Once set these should
not be altered or you will find the client cards have also
been altered. e.g. If 'Code 1' was set to PetPlan and then later
altered to PetProtect then all animals that were tagged as PetPlan
would also have been changed. This option works is a similar
fashion to the Recalls/Breeds above with with List/Edit/Print
question being asked.
Dose Details
These abbreviations are checked for whenever a stock item is dispensed
and will be expanded to include the full text.
Use this Sample list to give you ideas of what can be used.
Note: The number of dose abbreviations you can store is 200 and the system will check for recursion when new abbreviations are added. Recursion is where the abbreviation is used within the description and this may cause multiple lines to be added. When adding/editing an abbreviation the system will expand the description to include any other descriptions e.g. If BID and QID are valid descriptions then
AB1 Give 1 BID and then 1 QIDWill be expanded to include the description of BID/QID as well.
In the case of a dose that the period may vary you can get the
system to prompt you for details e.g.
ASK Give && tablets every && days HRS && tablets every && hour(s) LEY Apply in Left Eye && times dailyIn the above examples whenever the system comes across the && it will ask you to fill in the details.
There are three reserved dosage abbreviations that will be recognised automatically by the system:
| FHT | FreeHand Text | You will be prompted for the full dose |
| WOT | Work Out Tablets | A box will pop-up asking you for the details the system will also determine the number of tablets to be supplied and use this as the quantity. |
| WOI | Work Out Injection | As WOT except it relates to mls rather than tablets. |
| WOC | Work Out Capsule | As WOT except it relates to capsules rather than tablets. |
Postcode PAF file
You have the ability when adding a new client to check for the address
against the Royal Mail Postcode. This option is used to process the
raw database files and convert them into a format suitable
for PremVet 5 to use.
