Diary: Multi-User

Some diary functions require the whole of the diary to be locked off from other users while they are performed. If this is the case you will see:

Diary X in use by user 'X' - <R>etry?

Note:It may be the case that an individual workstation might break down whilst accessing a diary page, and this would mean that the page in question was prevented from being updated by other users. In THIS CASE, and ONLY THIS CASE, is it acceptable to enter an asterisk at this prompt. As you will probably understand, doing this at any other time will probably mess up the data files. If you do this we will not be sympathetic.

Press <R> to retry, or <RETURN> to cancel the action.

If the particular page of the diary you wish to edit is already being edited, the message:

This diary page is in use - press RETURN
will appear. When you press <RETURN>, you will be taken to the main diary page prompt. If you wish to retry, press <E>dit again.

When the user attempts to edit a slot which has already been booked too recently to have been shown on the user's display an error message is also given.

All of the above applies to the waiting room list as well, although of course only the current day's page of the diary can be used here, and the messages are worded slightly differently.
