Part IV Automating Common Tasks

  1. Recalls
    Premvet 5 provides a separate reporting function that enables you to identify clients who are due for a follow-up visit to the practice, called Recalls.
  2. Labelling
    Premvet 5 provides you with the facility to create and design your own labels. These are stored on the hard drive so that you can recall and print them, or use them with other parts of Premvet 5 such as recalls, repeat prescriptions and drug labels
  3. Operation Forms
    Premvet 5 can generate various common forms for you to give to clients. These include operation consent, euthanasia, export certificates and similar documents.
  4. Merge Printing
    Premvet 5 contains a powerful tool allowing you to automatically generate personalised letters to your clients. You may want to send a newsletter to all your clients, or a reminder to those clients who have missed a recall. This chapter discusses merge printing to help you make the most of this time-saving function.
  5. Reserved Words and Definition Files
    This chapter will explain how you can alter the way common documents, like invoices, fee notes and recall letters etc., look when they are printed.

Part V Extended Functionality

  1. Report Generator
    The report generator has been produced to supplement the standard listing utilities enabling you to design your own reports and lists. Once a report has been designed it is saved so it can be re-used whenever needed.
  2. Text Utilities
    Text utilities, and Premvet 5's text editor - a utility program primarily designed to set up definition files. It can also be used for simple word processing functions such as short letters or reminders.
  3. System Utilities
    This chapter will cover some of the miscellaneous utilities on the system, including system macros, telephone directory, address book, sending messages to other users, status code descriptions and bad debts.
  4. Practice Statistics
    Scan your practice database and produce general statistical details such as the total number of animals on the system, number of clinical records, etc.
  5. Appointments Diary and Waiting Room List
    You can use Premvet 5 to manage client appointments, and organise your practice waiting room by keeping a real-time record of clients who have arrived, are being consulted or are waiting to pay, etc.
  6. Herd Fertility
    You can use Premvet 5 to record and analyse fertility information of up to 99 herds of 340 animals in each herd.
  7. Kennel Booking
    You can use this module to maintain an advance booking schedule for boarding accommodation.
  8. Purchase Ledger
    This module records all your purchases and generates daybook and reports.
  9. Cross Updating
    The Cross Updating module is used to maintain clinical records and other data across sites with multiple branches via modem.

Part VI System Administration

  1. Passwords and User Levels
    This option, found on the Utilities menu, sets up the passwords, user i.d.'s and access levels for all the users on the system. Access to various parts of the software are controlled on a user by user basis.
  2. Function Keys
    Function keys are used to access demons (functions which can be 'invoked' anywhere in the system) e.g. phone directory, swapping printers etc. This chapter will provide a reference to the various function key capabilities.
  3. Getting Help
    The various help options within Premvet 5.
  4. Customisation
    The various system settings that can be altered to reflect the precise needs of your practice.
  5. Back-Ups
    Performing regular backups will safeguard your data against unforeseen circumstances.

    Checking the integrity of your data.

    Make the most of disk space by archiving old clients
