.qu Operation/Procedure? .qu Estimated charge? .qu Date of procedure? &es THE VETERINARY CENTRE &ef &pad1, &pad2, &pad &es ANAESTHETIC INFORMATION &ef &client &address1 &address2 This sheet answers some of the questions owners commonly ask about their pet's anaesthetic, but we will be pleased to answer any concerns you may have regarding &animal's procedure which have not been covered. &es WHEN TO COME IN&ef The best time is between 8.30 and 9.00 am on the morning of &hisher anaesthetic. We may be able to board cats overnight before an operation, at no charge. If this is more convenient please let us know. &es FOOD AND WATER&ef &bs In order to minimise the risk of vomiting during anaesthesia &animal must have an empty stomach, so please remove &hisher food from 6 pm the previous evening. &bf Water may be allowed until 6.00 am on the morning &animal comes in to the Veterinary Centre, but please do not give &himher any milk. &es CONTACT NUMBER&ef Please be prepared to leave a telephone number where we can reach someone at all times, as it may be vital for us to be able to contact you during the procedure. &es WHEN TO PHONE&ef Most work involving anaesthesia is performed in the late morning, so &animal should be recovering nicely by 2 pm, and we should be able to give you an idea of when &heshe will be ready to go home. &bs Please phone us at 2 pm. &bf &es ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES&ef If there is anything else you would like us to look at whilst &animal is with us, please mention it when &heshe is left in the morning.
