Read220o (Version 2.20.10) - June > August 2007
Data Major
- Waiting Room Times - There is a new script that will build
the Waiting Times tables as and when you need them. This allows
these specific tables to be build multiple time a day or at
specific time of the month without have to do them manually.
Add to cron:
vet -p bdwThere is NO time/date cut off when the tables are built this way. - A new script option
SET UPDATE DEADcan be used to mark animals deceased based on clinical text. You may have an AP code for Put To Sleep but had forgotten to tag is as death code. This can be used to rectify that. The reverse is also true, if you have a code that tagged an animal as dead by mistake the script can reverse it. The 1st field must be animal number, 2nd field if a valid date will be taken as date of death and the last field on the line should be a yes (animal is dead) or no (animal is alive). As with all script options DataMajor will be updated straight away, the local files will be updated and it will cross update to other sites. - Export Option - To make it less prone to problems; if
wdb -F 1is used, MYSQLDUMP will be set, incnoclin will be set and nofull disabled. It will run all steps in one go. - Added a new Column 'LoyaltyMultiplier' that will show the multiplier used for loyalty points.
Diary Plus
-
If you are using {} to ask the user to expand on the reason,
e.g.
- New/Changed Options
The 'G'oto option, if you enter a time (HH:MM or HHMM) then then system will jump to that time.
'M'essage of the Day - If there is a message for the day it will pop-up automatically when that page is accessed.
A New option 'Z' (for Zero) will zero the animal number and allows you to re-select a different animal. This applies if you have accessed the diary from an animal card.
- Adding/Editing Appointments
When you press 'A' to make an appointment the system will quickly check to see if someone else has made an appointment if so it will revert to the 'Edit' option.
The Number of minutes for an appointment, normally these are in 5 minute intervals. If you add a params.txt entry
Diary_Time_Slotsyou can customise it e.g.Diary_Time_Slots = 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 120, 240Will give 5 min slots for the 1st 20 mins, then a 30 and 40 min period followed by 1h 2hr and 4 hours.Admin Lock and Bad Debt - these will be checked when an appointment is made. If detected on ANY of the animals a pop-up warning will appear asking if you still want to make an appointment. The Admin Lock and Bad Debt status will be shown on the 4 and 2 hour views (if space).
Client balance - this will be shown when making an appointment and will appear on the 2 and 4 hr view.
When on the making a appointment screen the diary colour 'Screen Warnings' will be used - this is set on the Utilities menu (Colours).
If you have over-ridden a booking to make an appointment and then the client changes their mind the system will look at what was there previously and restore the block booking based on that. Note: It will looks at the FIRST slot and use that for all slots in the period.
Going from 'D' on the management card will, if a valid next appointment date is present, select that date and that queue and go straight to the page. You can change queues by using the set or default options.
'M'ake from the 'Fix appointment' screen will jump to today's diary page as before.
- Text Box
We have had requests for more space for adding appointment details a 7 x 35 text box has been added on all slots. Use the 'T'ext option when in 12-hr view edit mode to add/update it.
It will appear as *Text* (using screen warning colour) beside description and will also be added to 2/4hr view (if enough space on screen).
You can view the text box by using / to toggle the lower left window between text and appointment details.
- On Screen Status
The On-Screen status - was originally added for Large Animal practices - if you are 100% Small you can also use this as an indicator of length of operation.
Set the descriptions to be say Short, Long, medium e.g general times or Neuter, Spay, Dental e.g. operation type and you can allocate colours to these.
- Block Bookings
If Booking description has a colon (:) in it - when displayed on the diary screen all text following the colon will be removed - text will still be visible on booking selection to make it easier to see what it is.
When selecting a booking to delete - the bottom line of the screen will show the queues (1st 15 character of name).
Deleting a booking - ONLY if the slot is marked with the booking being deleted will it be removed. When making and booking a new question has been added:
Overwrite Yes / NoNo Will only make the booking if there is nothing there e.g. free slot Yes Will make a booking but only if there is nothing there or an existing Block booking In all cases if there is a booked animal appointment then it will NOT be over written
Opening Hours and Lunch Times will not be over written - they will take priority
Visit {} to ask for why the visit is required. If you
add a full stop e.g. {.} then the user MUST enter something.
The 'new' diary (Diary Plus) has been tested as far back as OpenServer 5.0.4.
- Normally the bottom line of the screen will show you a one
line help message. Now the text for the 'Help menu' will show
you the number of mail messages you have in your LOCAL mail
folder. e.g.
You have 8 new messages, 62 unread messages, 14 read messages. - If you are running E-Mail on a central server and have remote
servers at the branch sites you can set (in params.txt)
Real_Mail=Pop3to get the system to report the number of mail messages on the main server. This will be displayed on the top right of the main menu screen. With POP3 mail, using mutt (the mailer) you can read the mail from a remote server but it does involve you either specifying a pop folder or adding the connection details to your muttrc file. As well as showing the number of messages on the main menu if you pick E-Mail from the Text Utilities menu it will call (and login to) your POP3 server automatically for you.
Lab Email
- Mail from CDTS may have failed to attach correctly due to
spaces in the reference number - this has now been trapped.
- DEFRA - We have added *vla.defra.gsi* as valid e-mail accounts so
it won't be blocked if you are Spam scanning.
The upgrade will install the new version automatically.
Stock Control
- Deactivated stock items (Description starts **) will treated
as killed on price updates and not displayed.
- Dunlops - If the Web Server is busy and the system has to
re-try the SAME order number will be used. Earlier versions
would issue a new order number. If you quit from an order,
re-try a new number will still be issued the next time around.
- Extra logging has been added to allow us to track down problems with Internet ordering (drug.log).
Misc
- Operation List - If the system removed old operations it would
also remove the comment for the day - the comment will now be
preserved. Jumping to the Ops list from the clinical screen can
cause the wrong surname to be printed on a label if a drug is
dispensed for the same animal.
- Message Handler - If a message was received while a user was
deleting existing messages it would be lost. This has been
rectified.
- &Insured Reserved Word: Normally this will return either Yes or
No depending on if there is text in the Insured Field. It will
now check for the text starting with NO and if so will return
No. This allows you to have an insured company called No.
- Invoice Production: There was a limit of 1,000 transactions per
individual invoice - this has been increased to 2,000.
- House Number - When searching for records the system will strip
of any house number entered - if you then elect to add this
client the house number will be added back in to the address.
- User Defined Files - the text in all the user defined files will
be checked for {} as per normal AP codes and be treated the same.
- One Line Help - This has been enabled for all terminal types
(except Wyse's) and can no longer be switched off. Where the
help relates to 'common' questions the text will refer you to
the appropriate FAQ on http://www.premvet.co.uk/
- Old Debtor List - The old debtors list has been added to the
new style menus, while we recommend it's not used as it is
very prone to users entering a criteria e.g. just Farm and then
wondering why the figures don't match up a different report
based on ALL record type. It is now on Reports -> Lists.
- Editing Clinical Records - When editing work there is now an
option to amend the time - so the vets can enter the time they
visited the farm not when they booked the work onto the client.
- Management Record Changes - The system now logs changes to Name
and Address details - it will record the old details and the
new. This can be accessed via the Admin menu.
- Dates - You can enter dates in the format MM.YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY,
MM/YYYY, DD\MM\YYYY and the system will handle them correctly.
- Cross Updating: A problem with animal weights dropping to 0.00 has been rectified.
